Bible Study Opportunities:

Sundays:

· The Gospel of Matthew led by Pastor Troup in the church basement at 9am

· Church and State Issues led by Pastor Clark in the Overflow Room at 9am

· Paul’s Missionary Journeys, Paul the Trumpet of the Gospels led by Alan Stumpf in the Multipurpose Room at 9am for all Junior High students and their parents

Tuesdays:

· Catch the Vision: A Study of Revelation led by Pastor Troup at Burger King (Men’s Bible Study) at 6:30am

· Lutheran Spirituality: Promise led by Tim Nummela at Arby’s in Waterloo at 7pm. This is a Bible fellowship for non-married adults.

Wednesdays:

· A Journey Through Genesis led by Pastor Clark in the Overflow Room at 9:30am. This is a Bible fellow-ship for adults.

Thursdays:

· Science and the Savior: Advancing to the Future led by Lisa Clark in the basement of the Education Building at 7:00pm. This is a Bible fellowship for ladies.

Based on God's Word, we are committed to the Christ-centered education of our children. The Lord says, "...bring (your children) up in the training and instruction of the Lord." Eph 6:4 and, "make disciples of all nations, baptizing...and teaching them to cling to all I have commanded you." Matt 28:19-20 We know this is vital because God's Word brings life, and brings it abundantly. Jn. 6:68 "Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path." Ps 119:105

We, thus, organize a number of educational opportunities for your children. The Sunday School hour begins at 9:00 a.m. every Sunday. A week of Vacation Bible School (VBS) is operated yearly in the month of June. Immanuel also supports a pre-school program, which runs from Sept. - May with registration open to the children ages 3 to 5. For more information about the pre-school program simply call the church office.

Children in the 5th - 8th grades are encouraged to join our Wednesday evening Midweek Confirmation Classes. They convene during the school year and meet from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. The 7th and 8th grade classes are required for those children seeking to be confirmed in the Lutheran faith.

Bible studies are also conducted for the spiritual nurturing of the adults. Various topics are studied and these change as topics are completed. Bible-based studies are conducted every Sunday morning at 9:00 a.m. An "older adult" group meets on Wednesday mornings beginning at 9:30 a.m. The "LifeLight" Bible Study group meets on Monday evenings at 7:00 p.m. LifeLight begins in the fall season and meets in two 9-week sessions. Off site, an early morning men's study meets at a local eating establishment on Tuesday's at 6:30 a.m., and a Ladies' study meets at the Courthouse Cafe on Tuesday's at 7:00 p.m.
