Organizations
Several organizations, some of which are directly supported by the congregation, use our facilities. Their criteria for membership varies. All women, young and old, are invited to join the Ladies Aid/L.W.M.L. (Lutheran Women's Missionary League; for National LWML information see our Links). They seek to help (aid) the Church in her mission, both locally and globally. Women at Immanuel continue to "aid" our church in many different ways. The Ladies' Aid is not as active and has fewer members but still meets periodically throughout the year. All ladies are welcome to attend! The Church's Stephen Ministry is a one-on-one caring and comforting ministry. "Stephen ministers" are lay members of the congregation who have received special Stephen training. They operate closely with our pastor(s). Once trained, they can be appointed to help hurting individuals by providing personal, emotional and spiritual care. See our Stephen Ministers The local chapter of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans is a fraternal group providing many opportunities for service, both to the church and to individuals. All those holding Thrivent policies are considered members. All others can become associate members for a minor fee. Associate membership provides access to a number of great member benefits. For more information about Thrivent benefits see our Links.
